One NYR Accomplished: Clean up the hard drive

I accomplished a New Year’s Resolution yesterday: I deleted programs I don’t use, or installed only to review, or are now outdated. Then I defragged the hard drive. The computer runs MUCH better now!

I also backed up some documents, non-genealogy but still important, such as magazine articles and historical data (checkbook, etc.).

  1. Good for you! I have the same ambitions this weekend. This “clutter” problem is why I am considering the purchase of a netbook computer: only has 8GB of hard drive storage and forces you to either use an external hard drive or use web apps and sites to store data. Plus, I can’t beat the $349 price at Dell!
